Founder / Principal
Carlie Bullock‐Jones is the founder and managing Principal of Ecoworks Studio and has dedicated her entire career to bringing about a greener, healthier built environment. As a nationally known expert in sustainability and LEED consulting, Carlie has facilitated on numerous award‐winning projects, achieving high levels of LEED certification through the integrative design and construction process, which included leading the effort for the first LEED‐CI Platinum rated facility in the world, the Interface Showroom and offices. Selected as a LEED Faculty™ Mentor for the U.S. Green Building Council, Carlie is a highly sought‐after speaker and writer for national events and publications. Over the past thirteen years, Carlie has made teaching one of her primary focuses, training and inspiring thousands of individuals worldwide. She has been extensively involved in the development of LEED standards over the years, serving as a Subject Matter Expert for USGBC and GBCI, assisting in course curriculum, exam development and reference guide creation. As a LEED Reviewer™ for the Green Building Certification Institute since 2007, Carlie has been referred to as a “top reviewer” by her peers and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the LEED certification and review process.

Brandon Jones brings over 19 years of experience in the design, construction and sustainability industry. Prior to joining Ecoworks, Brandon served as the Director of Commercial Green Building Services for the Southface Energy Institute, the premier environmental non‐profit in the Southeast United States. Brandon has extensive experience managing engineers, architects and sustainability professionals to deliver sustainable consulting services, LEED project administration, trainings, energy auditing and energy modeling. Brandon has provided leadership on numerous high‐profile projects and programs, which include LEED for Existing Buildings Operation and Maintenance (EBOM) certification for Philips Arena, the first sports arena in the world to receive LEED EBOM certification; the Atlanta Better Buildings Challenge, which has over 67,000,000 square feet of buildings pledging to meet a 20% energy and water reduction goal by the year 2020; and LEED Volume certification for Chick‐fil‐A, a customized program to streamline the LEED certification process for Chick‐fil‐A restaurants. In addition, Brandon has delivered trainings to hundreds of individuals on a wide‐range of sustainability topics, including LEED and energy code. Prior to his focus on sustainability, Brandon provided pre‐construction management and cost estimating services for numerous large, complex projects, for a nationally recognized, award‐winning architectural firm.

Energy Team Manager/Senior Building Energy Analyst
Scott Haag has more than 10 years of experience in the design, analysis, and sustainability of the built environment, which includes mechanical design, energy auditing, commissioning, sustainability consulting, energy modeling, and staff management. Prior to joining Ecoworks, Scott was Manager of Quality at the Green Business Certification Institute, the organization responsible for certification and credentialing of multiple programs, including LEED, WELL, EDGE, PEER, SITES, and GRESB, and before that, was a design engineer and project manager at an MEP firm in Austin, Texas. Scott was integral in the development of the LEED v4 Rating System, and managed the creation of the LEED v4 Minimum Energy Performance Calculator. Scott has a Master’s Degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, both in Mechanical Engineering, and is a licensed Professional Engineer. In his spare time, Scott is an avid golfer, enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and watching college football as well as women’s volleyball.

Senior Building Energy Analyst
Luke McGuire brings over 8 years of experience in building performance analysis, mechanical engineering, and green building certification. He has combined his knowledge of math and computer science with a degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Architectural Engineering to help reduce energy consumption in the built environment. With experience creating building energy models as well as reviewing LEED review certification submissions, he is able to quickly and accurately analyze the solutions to achieve the highest level of energy savings for any building. Luke’s passion for building and sustainable design started as a teenager when he spent a summer working under contractors to build his family’s cabin in Northern Minnesota. When Luke is not saving the environment through sustainable design, he is saving the world by brewing delicious beers in his elaborate homebrewing set up in his basement.

Energy Modeler/Building Energy Analyst
Bryan Johnson brings over 7 years of consulting experience in energy performance analysis for new construction and existing buildings in the Mid-Atlantic, Pacific Northwest and Southeast Regions. His work over this period has included energy modeling for energy code compliance and for clients seeking LEED Green Building Certification for new construction and renovation projects, in addition to performing Life Cycle Cost Analysis for mechanical design strategies, Daylighting Analysis, and evaluation of envelope design using thermal modeling tools. In addition, Bryan has worked on a large number of existing building projects, having completed a number of ASHRAE Level I and Level II audits to evaluate strategies to save energy as well as operational costs for clients. Bryan has extensive training and experience documenting and communicating results to both technical and non-technical audiences. Bryan earned a Master’s degree in Appropriate Technology from Appalachian State University in 2009 and Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from San Jose State University. In his free time, Bryan enjoys bicycling, drumming, and thinking of the next energy saving project to implement at his home in Portland, OR.

Senior Project Manager
Prior to joining Ecoworks Studio, Allison took a leap and moved from her home state of Indiana to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue her passion for sustainable design as a consultant for a well-established and nationally recognized sustainable consulting firm. There she quickly assumed the role of primary project manager for several significant projects varying in size, location, LEED Certification Rating System, and LEED Certification level. As a project manager for Ecoworks Studio, Allison brings a wealth of knowledge from past projects and uses a collaborative and practical approach to guide her projects to reach their sustainability and certification goals. Allison is a member of the USGBC Georgia Chapter and is an on-going member of the USGBC Georgia Chapter Atlanta Branch Outreach Committee where she aides in organizing volunteer opportunities and events to promote sustainability and education in the Atlanta and greater Atlanta communities. She also has an Interior Design degree from Purdue University and prior to graduation completed the Industry Cooperative Education Program working for a furniture dealer and interior design firm in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Energy Modeler / Project Manager
As an Energy Modeler for Ecoworks Studio, Alissa performs energy models for projects seeking LEED Certification, assists with evaluation of the impact of construction materials and mechanical system on life cycle cost, reviews the technical energy and indoor air quality credits for LEED certifications, and provides recommendations for improved operating efficiency. Alissa manages client projects pursuing LEED certification and reviews certifications under the USGBC’s LEED green building rating system. She has also published articles on sustainability and was the 2012 Chair for the Atlanta Energy and Atmosphere AIA Committee on the Environment. When she is not at Ecoworks Studio, Alissa coaches a competitive gymnastics team.

As an Energy Modeler for Ecoworks Studio, Anisur performs energy models for projects seeking LEED Certification, he assists with optimizing building energy performance, reviews the technical energy and indoor air quality credits for LEED certifications, and provides recommendations for improved energy efficiency. Anisur brings over 10 years of experience in the design, construction and sustainability industry and specializes in sustainable and high‐performance building design using advanced computation methods. He is an expert in building energy performance analysis, renewable energy simulation, and energy and daylight optimization. He has also published articles on energy and sustainability in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. His research and its potential in enhancing integrated sustainable design process in architecture, engineering and digital technology has been recognized by the Architectural Research Centers Consortium (ARCC), for the 2013 ARCC King Medal for excellence in Architectural and Environmental Design Research.

As a Project Manager for Ecoworks Studio, Carey works with the Ecoworks team to achieve the sustainability and certification goals of various local and national clients. Carey also assists with the LEED review process for projects pursuing certification under the USGBC’s LEED green building rating system. Since graduating from The University of Georgia in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Ecology, Carey has dedicated herself to the field of sustainability and promoting green building strategies. When not at work she enjoys traveling, art, and long hikes with her dog.
As a LEED Coordinator for Ecoworks Studio, Laurel coordinates the LEED review process for the Ecoworks team. Laurel helps organize and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Ecoworks team and serves as the point of contact between Ecoworks and the USGBC regarding project certification. She has long been passionate about the sustainability built environment, writing a baccalaureate thesis on Impervious Surfaces as an Indicator of Water Quality in Sarasota, County. After earning a Bachelors in Environmental Science from New College of Florida in 2013, she has worked to promote sustainability and wellness in her career and personal life.

Jaida Holbrook has a Bachelor’s of Architecture degree from Cornell University and over 8 years of professional experience dedicated to environmental initiatives within the architecture and construction industry. As a Sustainability Project Manager for Ecoworks Studio, Jaida coordinates and manages LEED certifications for various building types and conducts LEED reviews. She is focused on providing clients with simple sustainability strategies that promote their environmental vision, occupant well-being, and project specific high performance building solutions.
Before joining Ecoworks Studio, Jaida was based in Stockholm, Sweden working with Skanska where she managed multiple LEED certifications, conducted HS&E inspections, oversaw environmental requirements for suppliers, and developed materials verification tracking tools. After relocating back to her home state, Georgia, she worked with Southface Energy Institute. During her time with Southface, she lead the EarthCraft Light Commercial regional building certification, into version 2.0, which focused on health and well-being opportunities.
In her spare time, Jaida leads the Women’s Sustainability Leadership Group (WSLG) focusing on female leaders in the field of sustainability. In addition, she enjoys time with her family, gardening, and raising urban chickens.

E.V. Bennett brings with her over 12 years of commercial construction experience. During that time, she helped to establish the nationally recognized company’s sustainability program, and was involved in and managed a variety of LEED projects – including several nationally known, landmark projects. These projects ranged in size, scale, location, type, and rating system, giving her a wide background of knowledge to draw from on new projects of any type. At Ecoworks Studio, E.V. works with various team members to help successfully guide projects to ensure that they meet the clients’ sustainable expectations. She is a member of the USGBC Georgia Chapter and has been actively involved in incorporating sustainability at the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia’s annual Career Expo, which enables high school students to learn about career opportunities in architecture, engineering and construction. E.V. earned Bachelors of Science degrees in Design (Architecture) and Construction Science and Management from Clemson University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, trying new recipes, and creating custom art pieces.
